Steps to enrol LIC policy for first-time/new users:

If you are a new customer of LIC and/or have not registered yourself for LIC’s online services, you are a new user. As a new user, first, you would have to create your LIC account and then you would be able to enrol your LIC policy. So, for creating your LIC account and enrolling your policy status, here are the steps:

In order to check the LIC policy status, you would have to register yourself on the LIC portal for online services. You need to follow the steps that are given below. However, before you begin the registration, it is recommended that you keep handy the following information:

• The policy number of the policy you wish to inquire about
• Detail of premiums that have been paid so far
• Scanned image of the policyholder’s Passport or PAN Card or Aadhaar Card ( .jpg or .jpeg format with a file size of less than 100 kb)

Once you are prepared, you need to pursue the given steps:

1. Step 1: Get the registration
   Visit LIC India’s website https://www.licindia.in/ and click on “New User”. Once you do that, you would have to fill in a user-id and create a password. You will be asked to provide all the required information. You will be sent a verification email to complete your registration process. Click the verification link and your account would be created. You will now be a registered portal user.

   Post registration, you now need to make use of the e-services. Once you click the
   “E-services” tab on the home page, you would have to log into your account using your user ID and password. You would get an online services enrolment form to register your policies. Print the form, fill it up and sign it. You would now have to upload it on the portal along with a scanned image of your passport, PAN Card, or Aadhaar Card.

   The verification process generally takes up to 3 business days. Once the verification is done by the LIC, you will receive an e-mail of acknowledgement or/ and an SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number. You will now be able to use the LIC e-services by logging in using your user id. You would now have to click on the option of ‘Basic Services’ “Add Policy” to add your remaining policies, if any. 

Steps to enrol for registered users:

Once you have your user id and password, you can log in as a “registered user” by following these steps:

1. Step 1:Visit https://www.licindia.in/ and choose ‘Customer Portal’
2. Step 2:
   Choose ‘Registered User’ and provide your user ID and password to log into your online LIC account
3. Step 3:Along with your user ID and password, you would also have to provide your date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format.
4. Step 4:
   You can then select ‘Sign In’ to log into your LIC account
5. Step 5:Once you enter your account, choose ‘Do you have LIC policies’ and answer ‘Yes’
6. Step 6:
   You would get an online enrolment form
7. Step 7:Fill up the form, take its printout, put your signature on the form and deposit the form at the nearest LIC branch office.
8. Step 8:The company would then verify the enrolment form and enrol your LIC policy online.

How to enrol on your LIC policy?

  After you complete the ‘Registration’ process, you will get an online LIC enrolment form for Individual Policy Holders. As you can see, in the form you will have to fill up the fields such as

Step 2: Verify the process

An auto-reply e-mail would be sent to the policyholder to confirm the registration.

Things to remember when checking LIC policy details online 

When you are a new customer and are creating your user ID and password for the first time, here are some things which you should keep in mind –

• Your policy number would be required. Therefore, you should keep the details of your LIC policy handy
• You have the flexibility of choosing any user ID which you want. Your user ID can be alphabetical, numerical and it can have characters like a dot or an underscore
• The length of your password should be between 8 and 30 characters. Set a password which you would be able to remember easily. Your password should be unique and kept confidential to prevent any fraudulent activities in your account
• The details which are marked with an asterix (*) are mandatory. You would have to provide such details to proceed further and register or log into your account
• Your area PIN Code should be a 6-digit number
• The email ID which you provide when signing up should be valid so that it can be used for any type of communication later on
• Your user ID should be unique. If it matches an existing ID you would be informed and you would have to choose a unique ID for your account
